Serves 6 

Ingredients:

Mince Pie Mix (make day before): 300g raisins, 100g currants, 100g dates, apple juice, cinnamon stick, orange peel, nutmeg. 

Filling: 2 packs blackberries, 6 Braeburn apples (peeled, cored, large chunks), 70g demerara sugar, 1 cinnamon stick, citrus peel, 30g butter, 30g water

Crust: 300g plain flour, 100g demerara sugar, 50g caster sugar, 100g melted brown butter, 8g each cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, 100g oats

Method: 

  1. Soak raisins, currants, dates, spices in apple juice overnight
  2. Braise peeled, chopped apples with butter, water, cinnamon & peel 
  3. Add blackberries and soaked fruit mix, cook until juicy & buttery
  4. Mix flour, sugars, spices, melted brown butter & oats for crumble.
  5. Layer filling in tray, top with crumble, bake 180°C for 30 mins. Serve warm and enjoy!
